3/24/00 - Peace activist Philip Berrigan was sentenced to spend 30 months in jail for attacking A-10s at a Maryland ANG base. He sprayed two Hogs with blood and took a hammer to a third.

1/21/00 - Maj. Mark Moynihan, an ANG Hog pilot with the 190th FS, was killed on Jan. 20th during a training mission. Moynihan was an active duty A-10 pilot for ten years before joining the ANG and had over 2,000 hours of time in the Hog.

5/18/98 - An A-10 out of Davis-Monthan crashed on May 14th. Capt. Christopher Hamilton ejected and suffered only minor injuries.

6/1/97 - An A-10 out of Davis-Monthan AFB in Arizona crashed on Tuesday (5/27) night, killing the pilot, Capt. Amy Lynn Svoboda. Capt. Svoboda had more than 1,400 hours of flight time in jets, and was one of six female A-10 pilots, and one of fourteen flying fighters in the Air Force overall. The cause of the was later determined to be pilot error.

4/17/97 - An A-10 on a training mission out of Moody AFB in Georgia has crashed. It went down in an unpopulated area and the pilot ejected safely. The cause of the crash is being investigated.

4/9/97 - An A-10 out of Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson, AZ, had been missing since April 2nd. Civil Air Patrol and Air Force aircraft are searching the southwest portion of Colorado for Capt. Craig Button and his A-10. Although officials aren't factoring in theft as a cause, they are checking Capt. Button's background. His A-10 was loaded with four 500lb bombs for a training mission with two other aircraft. Radar last spotted him 800 miles off-course in southwestern Colorado. The cause of the crash was officially ruled a suicide.
